Robert’s Story
Chicago-based musician Robert Baglione is a renowned figure in both the local and international music scenes. His versatility as a musical chameleon spans various platforms, including studio, theater, freelance gigs, and corporate events, showcasing styles ranging from jazz, funk, fusion, rock, and pop to neo-soul and ethnic genres like flamenco, Greek, Irish, and Jewish.
With roots in the Northeast Friuli Region of Italy, Robert’s early influences were shaped by his family and exposure to music and art at home. Introduced to the electric guitar at age 13, he balanced his passion for music with his interest in art throughout his schooling years. Joining a well-established horn band at sixteen, he honed his skills alongside seasoned professionals on the Chicago music scene.
Transitioning from art to music major at Triton College, Robert immersed himself in jazz under the mentorship of local guitarist Stu Pierce, who also taught Terry Kath of the band Chicago. Over the decades, he continued to refine his craft through lessons with esteemed musicians like Joe Diorio, Ted Green, Scott Henderson, Sid Jacobs, and Mike O’Neill.
Influenced by a diverse range of artists from Miles Davis and John Coltrane to Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, Robert’s musical journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a deep passion for jazz.
